Product Review; " I've been using mainly vintage Jansport backpacks almost exclusively for the past couple years for a few reasons; foremost importantly, the cost is super cheap it's what I can afford.. because of their affordability I'm not super bummed when they get worn out (and I really do overload and cause accidental tears often due to carrying heavy tools). The size is also perfect for the way I like to carry equipment - the large compartment can fit two "medium size" satchels, and the front pouch I use for the few items that I most frequently need to grab out. Secondly I can easily still find them in black color (which I need for work), and without any extraneous modern "features" like NFC-protected pockets or headphone ports (neither of which I ever use) , just a simple, dependable everyday carry bag. Lastly, the availability of old-stock Made in USA Jansport rucksacks means I don't have to resort to purchasing any imports, and as long as there are still these bags for sale, I cant have my US-made back pack, and keep my money too. I feel like a broken record, but as always it's a real shame that Jansport no longer manufactures in USA (their parent company just uses the old brand logo for marketing, but the quality of the modern products is that of any chinese garbage, but I still (hesitantly) represent their logo (mainly because "MADE IN USA" is clearly displayed on these old domestic versions, but I sometimes will get a compliment from someone else who grew up in the 90s and remembers the once ubiquitous Jansport packpacks, and the quality and US loyalty they once represented.
