In some areas they might still do that, but the majority of fast food restaurants now give all orders in the same paper bags, and the days of asking customers if they're "dining in" or "carry out" seem to be dissapearing - heck, now many big chain eateries have opted for digital teller stands (where there's not even a human clerk who takes your order). Anyway the trays can still be found on pre-owned / vintage webstores, and theyre not to pricey, only about $12 got me a good condition, sturdy tray that I use all the time. Great for eating TV-dinner on the couch, or - I often use it as a platter to roll ciggarettes on (the raised edges of the tray nicely prevent tobacco from falling off). I'm not a huge fan of the mcdonalds corporation, but these trays provide good utility, are affordable, and have that nostalgic 90s era vibe that people from that time will remember - and if you can keep it in good mint, they still make quite the collectors item !" -MadeInUSAReview
