The plastic is bendable but still endures weight well, and although the plastic is thin with ~3/4" circle cutout patterns throughout each wall, that also makes them very lightweight. The porous pattern also provides great ventilation (for fabric), drainage (for kitchen/bathroom items), or routing holes (for plugging in and storing electronic devices like mini PCs). These multipurpose Mini Crates are small, but not so small as to be inconvenient, and the rectangular shape allows them to be reoriented to fit in numerous compact arrangements. My one gripe is that there is often a fair amount of excess plastic molding which needs to be clipped off (most notably around the small interlocking pegs). Overall a great value (especially bulk quantities), with these mini crates, you can tidy up all the contents of that shelf of junk or even use these boxes to reorganize a different larger box - wow !
