Elgin is a well known swiss timepeice company, and for a long time many of their watches were being assembled or made in the United States - just be sure it's marked somewhere on the face, back or inner mechanism - Elgin watches are made in a number of countries around the world. I was lucky enough to find a fully working and great condition USA made Elgin on EBay for about $40, but I've seen some models going for hundreds if not thousands, so shop around for the best one available."
