I still decided to pick one up, though it is important to be aware of this possibility, and the safety precautions that must be taken to prevent catastrophe (like securing and checking all gaskets, keeping the propane tank as far away as possible from any flame, and only using the stove outside in a well ventilated area, away from anything flammable). I've only used my Century 4665 once or twice - I don't go camping very often, nor do I have a backyard to do some grilling in - I bought it really more for preparation for emergency situations. Propane as an energy source (for cooking or heat) can be very versatile and easy to store for long periods, and in preparation it's logical to have the means to use alternate forms of stored energy (if electricity from the grid and natural gas mains are nonfunctional). Cooking on the Dual-Burners is really pleasant - I appreciate the wide grill area, I can fit even large pans on here, and the wind-shields do a great job protecting the flames. I had to pick up a 10gal adapter to use my larger tank, but the included 1gal fitting worked well too. I really like these old Century Primus stoves - theyre easy to maintain, repair, and fold up quite compact for storage / travel - finding one nowadays can be tough, and the safety precautions are always important to know - but I think every house should have some sort of way to use propane gas if needed, and this is a dependable and very portable solution !
