Wether you like them fully firm or runny in the middle, boiling eggs is a quick and relatively effortless breakfast or lunchtime meal - but nailing the precise timing (reliably) is not always so easy. Depending on everything from the size of the egg, to the amount of water, to the number of other eggs, to the intensity of heat and duration (including which stovetop you have), to the amount of salt added to the water, and even the use of a cold water / ice bath at the end of the boil, to quickly cease the internal temperature cooking them any further.
