Reed And Barton Vintage 60s Sterling Silver Spanish Baroque Cocktail / Salad / Seafood Fork 5 5/8th inches long (multiple varieties)

" These flatware patterns are still highly sought after today and have influenced the market. The 1895 Pointed Antique pattern, which was actually based on a unique pattern Paul Revere designed, is still popular. Other popular flatware patterns include Love Disarmed, Francis First, and Georgian Rose Guildhall. Many of these patterns are fairly traditional, but Reed and Barton did release some more modern options such as the 1958 Diamond pattern. " -AntiqueSilver

I try to maintain a general philosophy of having less clutter around the house, but that everything should be functional and high quality - you can have two-dozen forks of average quality, or you can have two forks of the highest quality, take your pick, my choice is obviously the latter. This little fork is a perfect example of that mentality regarding minimalism - I like it because it takes up less space (than an average fork), is still fully functional and can do essentially all the tasks a normal fork can do (and potentially more by being able to get in small spaces), and being that it's a Reed And Barton product, it's made from the highest quality sterling silver and has a rich American cultural history. The Spanish Baroque set it comes from is mosty undecoracted, the majority of the surface of each utensil is mirror flat to show the beautiful polish of the metal, but the bottom edge is elegantly subtledy accented with a regal embossed design - almost like a fleur de lis or climbing ivy motif. Keeping it looking shiny is as easy as keeping it clean, using it often (the oils from your skin will naturally hydrate and prevent the silver from tarnishing), or if need be even grab a silver polishing cloth, and make this piece sparkle like brand new. The smell of tarnished silver can be a little off-putting if you're not familiar with the sulfury odor, so be sure to keep them clean and polished. Reed And Barton silverware makes a beautiful addition to any dining room table for special gatherings or otherwise, get them individually and you don't have to break out 15k$ for a whole set !
